I got my feet in your sand.

There is some comfort when one looks back and sees foot prints in the sand, proof of existence is right there in the dirt. There is some sorrow when the ocean wipes those foot prints away, proof that my existence here is only temporary. I think that there is something motivating that while those foot prints are only temporal as long as we keep moving they will always be there. The things we do in this world fade, but what makes those changes if what matters.
Which is my feet I guess? This doesn't make much sense but what does really.

Holy......!!!! Geez Mike, think you wrote enough? And... yay!!! Kudos for me!!! Anyway, when I first started reading I thought of the poem "Footprints" which I'm sure came to most people's minds. What you said, though, is an interesting take on such occurences. What marks will be left behind, what will be remembered by our passing through? That is partly why I try to do what I can, be as loving as I can as often as I can, and try to always be there when others need me...hopefully by trying to be the best me I can be, that will be enough so that when I do leave this life my memory will be one that will leave people feeling loved and happy.

I think people mis read what I was going for. Which just means I need to improve as a writer. What I was trying to say is that no matter what we do it will be forgoten in time. Man is a small and trival thing. The differance we can make is not so much the impressions we make but that we had them. Who we are is more important then what we do. This may sound werid but think about for a moment. If a man never gets a chance to jump infront of a car to save a child does it make him less of a man. If he is able to does it make him more of one. No, in your eyes and of those of others it might, but he would be still willing to do it if the chance comes. Just because it doesn't does not make him less heroic. If we are good people then we will do good things. If we are great people we may do great things but some times events have to fall into place for others to see one mans (or womans) greatness.

I don't think everything we do will be lost in time. That's what journal's are for. And every once in a while someone leaves a footprint that is a little deeper than the rest, and lasts a little longer.
